I was lucky to have photographed only the second wedding ever done at Amador Cellars. The barn was built on the winery property for a family members wedding and then was opened up to the public. Ever since 2014 I have enjoyed coming up to Plymouth to photograph weddings at Amador Cellars. The Amador County wineries have gorgeous rolling hills which makes these venues perfect for weddings. Although the region has become increasingly popular there still is a small winery feel up here, a feeling you dont get in Lodi, Livermore or especially Napa.
The country / barn wedding trend doesn't seem to be cooling down anytime soon. Whether the couples come from bigger, urban cities to the quiet country for a change of pace or this type of property might be what they call home, its no doubt that barns are great for weddings. Many DIY brides choose barns for the ease of decorating the space with readily available materials. Another trend that seems to go along with barn weddings is BBQ! Having a reception that is more like a backyard family reunion or informal gathering has become my favorite trend for weddings. Smoky grills, tasty meats, creamy mac n cheese. All my favorite flavors rolled into one good party.
